II Aspire has announced that the recent review of the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Mechanical Fire Protection has been approved and published by the Government. BAFSA is pleased to have worked with II Aspire on the Steering and Working Group, along with other with industry employers, to review the existing NOS, then update and agree the changes necessary to ensure the NOS are reflective of industry changes to maintain and improve standards of practice.
The new NOS, published last week, and soon to be made freely available, have been written by a group of professional employer experts to ensure they respond to the developments in the rapidly growing fire sprinkler industry. The draft NOS went out to public consultation in February, so views from industry were captured and fed into the review of the standards.
Ruth Roy, of II Aspire spoke of her special thanks to all BAFSA members who contributed their valuable time and knowledge to be involved in this important project, both as part of the expert working groups (EWG) and those that provided feedback during the consultation process.
