BAFSA now offers three routes to the Certificate in Fire Sprinkler Installation (Level 2). This are available to take as a residential option, a commercial option or a commercial and residential option combined and are all done online in your own time. The online modules consist of approx. 40 hours total learning time with a maximum time on programme permitted of 6 months (to include time for submission of post course work).
The ABBE L2 Certificate in Fire Sprinkler Installation is a competency-based qualification aimed at individuals employed in fire sprinkler system installation. The qualification is approved for learners aged 18+ and who have either of the following: a minimum of three years sprinkler installer experience in their chosen discipline (commercial or residential) a recognised Level 3 Qualification in plumbing and a BAFSA CPD Programme Certificate in Principles & Practices of Automatic Fire Sprinkler Installation combined with 18 months sprinkler installation experience (residential) Learners must be able to work at heights.
ABBE Level 2 Certificate in Fire Sprinkler Installation (Residential)
BAFSA has widened the eligibility criteria for the residential option for plumbers to provide access to Level 3 qualified plumbers who have 18 months experienced of fire sprinkler installations (residential). In addition to a Level 3 Qualification in Plumbing learners will be required to hold the BAFSA Principles & Practices of Automatic Fire Sprinkler Systems CPD Certificate.
An Industry Skillcard - Fire Sprinkler Project Engineer (blue skilled worker card) is available to those who achieve the qualification.
