BAFSA now offers three routes to the Certificate in Fire Sprinkler Installation (Level 2). This are available to take as a residential option, a commercial option or a commercial and residential option combined and are all done online in your own time. The online modules consist of approx. 60 hours total learning time with a maximum time on programme permitted of 18 months (to include time for submission of post course work).
Candidates will be expected to submit post course work (in video format) for assessment and sit a final online exam. Candidates will also be required to have access to a hard copy of LPC Rules (BS EN 12845:2015) marked with references/bookmarks. Notes and worked examples are not permitted.
The Certificate in Fire Sprinkler Installation (Level 2) is a competency-based qualification aimed at individuals employed in the fire sprinkler industry. The qualification is approved for learners aged 18+ and who have a minimum of three years installer experience.There are no formal entry requirements although learners must be able to work at heights.
This qualification is intended for those installing fire sprinklers to evidence the knowledge and competences necessary to meet the industry standards for an installation role. The framework of the qualification should provide sufficient flexibility for the variations in different jobs and locations.
An Industry Skillcard - Fire Sprinkler Project Engineer (blue skilled worker card) is available to those who achieve the qualification.
