Risk and Resilience in the Fire Sprinkler Sector
19 November 2026 | Forest of Arden Hotel, Birmingham
The British Automatic Fire Sprinkler Association (BAFSA) is delighted to welcome members to its 2026 Conference on 19 November at the Forest of Arden Hotel, Birmingham.
This year’s conference will explore the theme “Risk and Resilience in the Fire Sprinkler Sector”, bringing together industry leaders, experts and members to consider the challenges facing the sprinkler industry and how we can work together to build a stronger, more resilient future.
We are delighted to welcome Peter Apps as our keynote speaker. Peter is an award-winning journalist specialising in news and analysis of the UK’s affordable housing sector. He was one of the few journalists to raise concerns about dangerous cladding and high-rise buildings before the Grenfell Tower fire and went on to provide significant reporting into the causes and consequences of the tragedy. His acclaimed book, Show Me The Bodies, won the 2023 Orwell Prize for Political Writing.
Alongside our keynote, delegates will hear from a line-up of expert speakers covering some of the key issues currently affecting the fire sprinkler sector. Topics will include the latest developments in EU and UK regulations relating to PFAS, what these changes mean for rack sprinkler systems, and the implications for manufacturers, designers, installers and other stakeholders across the industry.
The conference will also provide an exciting opportunity to hear more about the planned Sprinkler Centre of Excellence, with an announcement on this important development for the future of the sector.
A key feature of the day will be a panel discussion examining how we can better manage risk within the fire sprinkler sector and build resilience across the industry. The discussion will look at the challenges ahead, the opportunities for collaboration and the steps needed to ensure the sector remains equipped to respond to changing regulations, market pressures and emerging risks.
The BAFSA Conference is an opportunity to gain valuable insight, share knowledge and connect with colleagues from across the industry while contributing to the conversations that will help shape the future of fire sprinkler protection.
The conference and lunch are free to attend for BAFSA members, but advance registration is required and places are limited. Please click here or click on the booking link for the conference below.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Forest of Arden Hotel on 19 November 2026 for an engaging and informative day focused on risk, resilience and the future of the fire sprinkler sector.
