BAFSA represents the views of its members in British Standards Institute committees and other technical forums such as the insurance body the RISC Authority, the BRE Global Standing Panel and BRE Global Governing Body. BAFSA is also pleased to work with the Sprinkler Coordination Group, National Fire Sprinkler Network, the European Fire Sprinkler Network and the Fire Sector Federation in the furtherance of its aims to reduce the toll of death, suffering, property damage, environmental pollution and economic impact which results from fire.
BAFSA is also a founding member of the Business Sprinkler Alliance (BSA) which is funded by a major international insurer and campaigns to promote the wider use of sprinklers in industrial and commercial premises.
BAFSA also has a close working relationship with the Fire Industry Association (FIA) who represent the fire detection, gas extinguishing and fire extinguisher industries and with fire and rescue service interests, the passive fire protection industry, the Fire Protection Association (FPA), trade press and other fire-related bodies.
