In the last month sprinklers have protected a school, a retirement housing block and a 13 storey residential building from fire. Yet again sprinklers are recorded as protecting the young, the elderly and the vulnerable from fire thus providing society with  the necessary resilience to the damaging forces of fire.

A single concealed sidewall sprinkler head extinguished the fire and no injuries were reported. The sprinkler system was reinstated the following day within two hours of being reported. However due to the design of the system – provision of an isolation valve for each individual flat – the system stayed live for the remaining flats. Thanks to BAFSA member BMS Sprinkler for reporting this.
