Armstrong Priestley are the first company to have employees pass the BAFSA Inspection and Commissioning Course which allows them to apply for the new Industry related CSCS SKILLS card.

“The new Blue Skill Card for “Commercial Fire Sprinkler Engineers” is a first and we are proud to have our engineers qualified and be amongst some of the very first people to carry the new trade related card,” says Steve Brailey, Joint managing director at Armstrong Priestley.

“Having personally been involved with the BAFSA Skills and Development committee over the last few years, I have witnessed the dialogue with industry and the dedication and time it has taken to reach this position. I genuinely believe this is a point in time. To actually have recognised qualifications and a related process coupled with a H&S qualification which recognises “ Fire Sprinkler Engineers” as a skill and qualification is superb.”

He adds: “This is potentially the start of a whole structure of recognised qualifications which will allow our industry to recognise our people and offer development of existing and new employees. A bright future for our industry, the skill set with in it and standards we set.”

The development of the new Blue Skill Card for ‘Commercial Fire Sprinkler Engineers’ is the result of BAFSA’s work with The Skills Partnership and Industry Skillcard to develop a Skillcard route for those fire sprinkler engineers involved in Inspection, Maintenance and Commissioning of Commercial Fire Sprinkler Systems.
