In an interview with the Birmingham Post, Councillor Dr Barry Henley has stated that sprinklers will save property not lives adding that because of the use of chip pans, you cannot have a sprinkler in a kitchen.
A recent Sprinkler Save https://www.bafsa.org.uk/sprinkler-save-high-rise-flat-london/ in a kitchen on the 15th storey of a block of flats in London, because of a chip pan fire, says otherwise. And many other reports of similar incidents highlight the fact time and time again that sprinklers save lives and protect property, families, firefighters and communities from the destructive forces of fire.
The Councillor is invited to attend a seminar in Birmingham to learn more about the effectiveness of sprinklers and how they save lives… BAFSA wonders whether he will accept the invitation.
