Members of BAFSA were shocked and saddened to hear of the deadly attack and subsequent death of Sir David Amess MP.

Our thoughts are with his Family, friends and colleagues following this terrible attack.

Sir David was attacked while carrying out his constituency duties today and tragically died from the injuries sustained.

Sir David has been a good friend and supporter of the sprinkler industry and the Fire and Rescue Service in his role as Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Fire and Rescue Service Group.

He was an extremely well liked and very capable Constituency MP who first entered Parliament in 1983 as the MP for Basildon.

In his role as the Chair of the All-Party Group he fought tirelessly to improve the standards of fire safety in the UK and was convinced of the value of fitting automatic fire sprinklers.

On behalf of BAFSA we send our condolences to his Family, they will be in our thoughts at this very awful time.
